Lake Tapps in Council District 1 has finally become a guaranteed water resource for recreation and eventual drinking water for the next fifty years. An agreement has been reached that includes the interests of five cities, three municipal water districts, local tribes, county, state and federal governments assuring lake water levels, fish enhancement, environmental concerns and, of course, the recreational public.
Councilmember Bunney talks about the years of work by many that went into this historic agreement, the partnerships for operation, and what it will mean to Pierce County and the region.

Over the next two years, road construction projects are taking place in the 176th and Canyon Road East corridor in District 3 near Fredrickson. Council member Roger Bush describes the importance and significance of combining multiple road projects together, the cost savings and the positive transportation outcome these road projects will bring to the community, the Port of Tacoma and Pierce County.

Through a County Ordinance, Councilmember Dick Muri has established a Roy-McKenna Advisory Commission which will facilitate more collaborative communications for residents in addressing many issues in this pristine rural area of Pierce County. This In District focuses on some recent crime related concerns with community and business leaders and points to the positive impacts that a new commission such as this can provide for the Roy and McKenna communities.

Councilmember Dick Muri represents a wide and growing geographic area of Pierce County which includes military installations and the islands off southwest Pierce County. Economic development is a key driver and is being encouraged with some major sewer and water projects now taking place in the Tillicum and Woodbrook communities.
